One weekly goal. Free when you hit it.
Pick your activity minutes for the week. Hit them and steps.org costs nothing. Miss them and your monthly price goes up, and all of it goes to carbon removal. Here is everything that happens, from your weekly goal to where the money goes.
The five steps
Minutes a week you can pick
Pick one. Your activity minutes are the moving time from your Strava activities, any sport, added up over the week.
Count your cardio: runs, rides, walks, swims, anything Strava records. These are just defaults, so pick what you'll keep and change it any time. For reference, the WHO's 2020 guidelines say adults should do 150 to 300 minutes of moderate activity a week, or 75 to 150 of vigorous.
WHO guidelines on physical activity, 2020How your price moves
steps.org starts at $0 a month. Each week you hit or miss changes your monthly price, and the new price shows the moment the week ends, Sunday at midnight.

Miss one week in three and your price stays flat. Hit more than that and it falls to $0.
What counts
Moving time from any sport counts toward your minutes, added up over the week. steps.org checks every activity Strava sends, and it counts only when all three are true.
Workouts that reach Strava up to 48 hours late still count for the week you did them, and your price is corrected.
Your first week is a warm-up
Start your plan any day. Your first counted week starts the next Monday. Until then your activities show up, but nothing counts against you.
When you're charged, and where the money goes
When you're charged
Once a month, for the month just ended, at your price on that day. Your card is saved when you start your plan, and at $0 you pay nothing.
Where the money goes
100% of what you pay, after VAT and card fees, goes to carbon removal through Stripe Climate. steps.org never keeps any of it.
- You're charged for the month just ended, only if your price is above $0. VAT and card processing fees come off first.
- 100% of the rest goes into one fund, two days after paying, once any refund has happened.
- When the fund covers a metric ton, we buy one through Frontier. Frontier's fee, about 3%, is part of the order.
- Frontier and an independent third party check every metric ton before it's delivered.

Privacy and Strava
Only you see your week
Your week, your activities and your price show only to you, when you're signed in. steps.org has no public pages, and nothing it reads from Strava goes to analytics or to any AI.
Privacy, in plain wordsStrava stays connected
- Strava stays connected while your account is open.
- To disconnect it, close your account. We delete what we hold from Strava and email you to confirm.
- If you remove steps.org in Strava's settings, your weeks count as missed until you reconnect.
- If no activity reaches Strava for 90 days, your account closes and everything is deleted, with an email 7 days before.
