What steps.org reads, what it keeps, and who sees it. The legal version is our Privacy Policy.
Only you see your week
Your week, your activities, your price and your reasons for doing this show only to you, when you're signed in. steps.org has no public pages.
What we read from Strava
Each activity's start time and moving time, whether a device recorded it or it was entered by hand, and whether it has heart rate or a GPS track. We keep activities for 7 days at most, and each week's total, result and price as your billing record.
Never for analytics or AI
Nothing we read from Strava goes to our analytics, to advertising or to any AI. Nothing you write goes to an AI model from us.
We collect the minimum
Your email, to sign you in, through Clerk. Your goal, your stakes, your time zone and why you're doing this, as you wrote it. Stripe holds your card, and the card details never reach us.
A few emails, each with a job
On Monday, how your last week went and your new price. The moment you hit your goal, one that says so. On Saturday, if you haven't yet, what's left before Sunday midnight. One if a charge fails, one when we delete your Strava data, and a last one 7 days before your account closes. Monday's, and the hit with Saturday's, turn off in Settings. Stripe emails your receipts.
Leaving means leaving
Close your account and everything goes: your goal, your weeks, your reasons and what we hold from Strava, and we email you to confirm. Your account also closes after 90 days with no activity on Strava, with an email 7 days before.
An EU company, some US services
steps.org is run by Pipedesk OÜ in Estonia, under the GDPR. Some of the services that run it are in the US, at least in part: Strava, Clerk for sign-in, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, and Google Analytics for counting visits. The Privacy Policy names every one.
steps.org counts visits with Seline and Google Analytics, so we can tell which pages help people start. There's no cookie banner. This switch is the opt-out, for this browser:
