About

Here to keep your practice alive —
not another AI wellness app.

Steps is made by a very small team with one strong opinion: your inner life is nobody's business — and nobody's engagement metric.

The team is fronted by Tiago, a father of four living in Porto who has spent the last decade building and backing consumer products — from Codeplace, the project-based programming school that taught over 100,000 students, to the fintech and education companies in the notacompany.com portfolio. He has kept this exact morning practice for years — gratitude, a daily affirmation, yesterday's lesson — and it has survived four kids' worth of chaotic mornings for one reason: a journal that texts first doesn't need remembering. We built Steps after watching every beautiful paper journal around us die in a drawer, and every journaling app bury three honest lines under forty features.

The philosophy is the .org in the name: human first. What your journal means is for you to decide — never software. So Steps does three small things extremely well: texts you the four questions on the mornings you chose, keeps your record faithfully, and keeps it private. Nothing else. It will never analyze you, coach you, or feed your inner life to an ad network.

The company

Steps is built by Not a Company, the parent organisation behind the brand and the product, and is operated by Pipedesk OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (EU) trading under that name. Card charges appear as NOTACO. Say hello anytime: [email protected].
