How the money gets there

    You're charged

    You're charged for the month just ended, only if your price is above $0. VAT and card processing fees come off first.

  2. 2

    One fund

    30% of the rest goes into one fund, two days after paying, once any refund has happened.

  3. 3

    A metric ton at a time

    When the fund covers a metric ton, we buy one through Frontier. Frontier's fee, about 3%, is part of the order.

  4. 4

    Checked, then delivered

    Frontier and an independent third party check every metric ton before it's delivered.

Some of the carbon already up there has to come back down.

Its buyers have committed 1.8 billion dollars by 2040. Frontier is owned by Stripe; its buyers include Google, Shopify, Salesforce, H&M Group, Workday and Anthropic.
