A template is a set of prompts one of them used, and each template says, right above its prompts, whose words they are: theirs, or ours. Drafted with AI help and read line by line by a person before it publishes.
Where the facts come from
Every claim traces to a named, findable source — the book, the diary, the letter, the archive, or an interview we ran ourselves. Not "studies show": a person, a work, a date, and a way for you to go and check it. Where a prompt is in our words rather than theirs — which is most of them — the template says so, right above its prompts.
How these pages are written
Drafted with AI help, read by a person. Claude drafts each page from sources it has been given and read; Tiago Martins then reads every line before anything publishes. Nothing goes live unreviewed.
What we will not do
No invented statistics, testimonials, or reviews — the same rule as the rest of steps.org. No medical claims. People have kept journals since at least Marcus Aurelius; we cite the people, not studies. No quotations we haven't checked against the original — if we can't check one, we leave it out.
Where Steps appears
Steps is the product these pages support, and we say so rather than pretending otherwise. Any comparison page says so at the top and describes competitors fairly, at their published prices. Four of these templates you can switch to inside Steps with one message; the others you set as your own prompts. No page promises what a template will do for you. The most we say is what Benjamin Franklin said of his: that he was a better and a happier man for trying, and that he never mastered it.
Corrections
If we have credited the wrong person, mangled a quotation, or been unfair to a person or a tradition, we fix the page and update its "last updated" date. Corrections are made in place; we do not quietly delete.
